Subaru Celebrates Australian WRX Milestone With Limited-Edition AWD Club Spec Evo

10

Subaru Australia is commemorating the sale of its 60,000th WRX with a special edition model: the AWD Club Spec Evo. Limited to just 75 units, this variant offers a vibrant throwback to Subaru’s rally heritage while building on the range-topping tS Spec B trim.

A Nod to the Past

The Club Spec Evo stands out with its striking Sunrise Yellow paint, a color previously featured on the BRZ tS Kiiro and Series.Yellow editions. This bold exterior is complemented by black and white decals, gold brake calipers, and matte black 19-inch alloy wheels. The addition of a prominent rear wing further evokes the iconic STI models of the past.

Inside the Special Edition

The interior receives a sporty upgrade with Recaro sport bucket seats featuring Ultrasuede and leather-style upholstery. Yellow perforations and stitching add a thematic touch, while a numbered plaque confirms the exclusivity of each vehicle.

Performance Remains Consistent

Under the hood, the Club Spec Evo retains the standard WRX 2.4-liter turbocharged boxer engine, delivering 271 horsepower (202 kW / 275 PS) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque. The six-speed manual transmission and Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system remain unchanged, ensuring the same driving experience as other WRX models. The suspension and braking components are also sourced from the tS Spec B, including electronically controlled STI-tuned dampers and Brembo brakes.

Pricing and Availability

The 2026 Subaru WRX AWD Club Spec Evo is available for order now in Australia, with a price tag of AU$ 63,190 (US$ 45,100). This represents a AU$ 1,000 (US$ 715) premium over the tS Spec B trim, making it the most expensive WRX currently offered in the country.

Global Variations

While Australia receives this visually distinct special edition, other markets like Japan have seen more substantial performance-oriented versions of the VB-generation WRX. These include higher-powered models like the limited-run WRX STI S210 and the WRX STI Sport#, which incorporate STI Performance chassis upgrades.

The Club Spec Evo is a celebration of the WRX’s popularity in Australia, and while it doesn’t introduce any mechanical changes, the limited-run model offers enthusiasts a unique and striking variant of the iconic performance sedan.
