2027 Chevy Corvette Grand Sport: New Engine, Enhanced Performance

Chevrolet has unveiled the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport, a model designed to bridge the gap between the base Stingray and the high-performance Z06. The key update is a new 6.7-liter naturally aspirated V-8 engine (dubbed the LS6), which produces 535 horsepower and 520 pound-feet of torque. This engine will also be standard on the base 2027 Corvette Stingray, marking a significant upgrade across the lineup.

New Engine, Proven Power

The LS6 boasts a higher 13.0:1 compression ratio, larger throttle body, and a redesigned intake manifold to maximize airflow. This results in more torque than any other naturally aspirated V-8 in Corvette history. The engine is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, promising 0-60 mph times under 3.0 seconds—similar to the current Z51-equipped Stingray.

Chevy will also offer a Grand Sport X variant with a hybrid all-wheel-drive setup, offering even greater performance potential.

Performance Upgrades and Options

The Grand Sport builds on the wider body of the Z06, offering aggressive styling and enhanced aerodynamics. Buyers can choose from several performance packages:

  • Z52 Sport Performance Package: Stiffer suspension, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, and high-performance iron brakes.
  • Track Performance Package: Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires, carbon-ceramic brakes, track-tuned chassis, and a full carbon-fiber aero kit (splitter, dive planes, underbody strakes, rear wing).

A quad center exhaust is also available for the first time on a C8 pushrod V-8. Additional options include Performance Traction Management for precise control over traction intervention.

Visual and Interior Enhancements

The Grand Sport maintains the C8’s mid-engine silhouette, with wider side intakes and updated hash marks now on the rear fenders. New colors include Admiral Blue Metallic (a throwback to the C4 generation) and Pitch Gray Metallic. Unique 10-spoke forged aluminum wheels are also available.

The Launch Edition features a Santorini Blue-Dipped interior with red stitching and accents, along with special badging and embroidered floor mats.

Availability and Pricing

Production begins this summer, with sales starting in the second half of 2027. Pricing has not been officially released but is estimated to start around $95,000. The Grand Sport represents a compelling option for enthusiasts seeking a balance of power, handling, and track-ready features.

The 2027 Corvette Grand Sport delivers more performance than ever before. The new 6.7L V-8 and optional performance packages make this a standout option for drivers who want the best of both worlds—street comfort and track capability.
