BYD has unveiled its 2026 model year Seal 06 series, expanding the lineup with both all-electric (GT) and plug-in hybrid (DM-i Touring) options. The move caters to a broader range of consumer preferences, offering electric range, hybrid efficiency, and a wagon body style.
The Chinese automaker is aggressively expanding its electric vehicle (EV) footprint globally, and the Seal 06 represents a key part of that strategy. The models are competitively priced, starting at just over $16,000, making them attractive alternatives to established brands in the EV space.
Electric Seal 06 GT: Performance and Charging
The all-electric Seal 06 GT comes in four configurations, with pricing from 18,700 USD to 24,600 USD. The trims are as follows:

- 620 Max: $24,600
All versions feature BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and fast-charging capabilities. BYD is investing heavily in charging infrastructure, with plans to complete 1,000 high-speed stations by May 1st as part of its “Dream Building Station Plan.” The GT retains the Ocean-M inspired design with updated color options: Aurora Purple and Portia Rose Red.
Dimensions are 4630mm long, 1880mm wide, and 1490mm high with a 2820mm wheelbase. The interior includes a 15.6-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, and a three-spoke steering wheel.
Higher trims (620 Plus/Max) offer advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) with the “God’s Eye” suite, including lidar on the top-tier model. Battery choices are 57.54 kWh (520 km CLTC range) and 69.07 kWh (620 km CLTC range).
Seal 06 DM-i Touring: Hybrid Efficiency in a Wagon Body
The plug-in hybrid Seal 06 DM-i Touring is available in wagon form, providing greater cargo space and rear headroom. The pricing is as follows:
- 200 Comfort: $16,200
- 200 Smart: $17,400
- 200 Premium: $18,800
- 300 Flagship: $20,300
The DM-i Touring utilizes BYD’s fifth-generation DM plug-in hybrid technology, combining a 1.5L engine with an electric motor.
The car has a length of 4850mm, a width of 1890mm, and a height of 1505mm with a 2790mm wheelbase. Interior features include 12.8-inch or 15.6-inch central screens depending on the trim. Battery options include a 25.28 kWh (200 km CLTC range) or a 34.27 kWh (300 km CLTC range).
