Changan, a prominent Chinese automaker, has unveiled its latest flagship sedan, the Nevo A06. Offered in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) configurations, the Nevo A06 boasts an impressive range and a sophisticated suite of technology features, targeting discerning Chinese consumers.
The Nevo A06 is available in eight trims across its BEV and EREV variants, priced competitively within China’s market:
-
BEV Variants: Prices range from ¥109,900 ($15,400 USD) for the base 510 Pro to ¥149,900 ($21,100 USD) for the top-tier Lidar Ultra+ trim. These trims are distinguished by their battery capacities (51.48 kWh and 63.18 kWh) which translate into claimed CLTC ranges of 510 km (317 miles) and 630 km (391 miles), respectively.
-
EREV Variants: Priced similarly, these models combine a gasoline range extender with an electric motor, achieving a remarkable combined driving range of 2,120 km (1,310 miles). The 240 Lidar Ultra trim leads the pack at ¥129,900 ($18,200 USD), while the 240 Max starts at ¥119,900 ($16,800 USD).
Beyond Range: Design and Features
The Nevo A06 is visually striking. Its front fascia features a unique, elongated LED light strip spanning nearly the entire width of the car. At the rear, a similarly intricate LED taillight cluster offers customizable lighting patterns. Built on Changan’s SDA platform, this sedan measures 4885 mm long, offering ample interior space and practicality.
One notable feature is the generous cargo capacity. A front trunk (108 L) adds to the standard 656 L rear trunk, totaling 764 L of usable storage. With the rear seats folded down and utilizing the front trunk, the Nevo A06 claims a maximum capacity of 2168 L – enough for a whopping 42 20-inch suitcases. This emphasizes its suitability for families or those requiring significant cargo space.
Advanced Technology
Changan has equipped the Nevo A06 with an advanced suite of technology features, emphasizing autonomous driving capabilities:
-
Top Trims Get Lidar: The highest and second-highest trims are fitted with a lidar sensor in addition to three millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and 11 cameras. This comprehensive sensory array forms the backbone of Changan’s Tianshu advanced driver assistance system (ADAS).
-
Horizon Robotics at its Core: Powered by a Horizon Robotics Journey J6M chip, the Tianshu ADAS promises features such as highway navigation on autopilot (NOA), automated parking assist, and automatic emergency braking. These advanced systems position the Nevo A06 as a contender in China’s rapidly developing autonomous driving market.
-
In-Car AI: Inside the cabin, a 15.6-inch central control screen and 10.17-inch instrument panel deliver a modern, driver-centric experience. The system is driven by MediaTek’s MTK8676 automotive chip and features an AI voice assistant integrated with language models from Deepseek and Alibaba, offering natural language interaction.
Beyond these key highlights, the Nevo A06 offers additional premium features like a panoramic sunroof, an in-vehicle refrigerator, customizable ambient lighting, a 20-speaker audio system, and heated/ventilated massage seats throughout.
The Nevo A06 represents Changan’s ambition to compete in China’s increasingly sophisticated electric vehicle market. Combining competitive pricing with long range capabilities, advanced autonomous driving technology, and a comfortable interior, the sedan aims to attract tech-savvy buyers seeking a well-rounded EV experience.
