Vision BMW Alpina: Not Quite a Sedan

12

Alpina is back. Sort of. The first car to wear the revived badge won’t be this concept, though. It’ll be a 7 Series sedan. This? This is a two-door coupe called the Vision BMW Alpina. Sleek. Pointed. Dangerous.

“Sleek two-door coupe.”

It’s long. 204.7 inches of aluminum and intent. The roof slopes hard. You fit four people inside if they’re polite.

BMW didn’t talk about the guts. Not really. But they said there’s a V-8. Good to know. The body tells its own story anyway. Long hood. Muscular rear haunches. Classic multi-spoke Alpina wheels tucked underneath.

The back is quiet. Too quiet compared to the front. Taillights are just two thin lines. They sit above a deep crease that cuts down past the Alpina logo. Simple. Effective.

Front end though? Shark nose. No apologies. The kidney grille is pointed. Lit up with illuminated borders. Headlights are narrow. Crystal-like. A small Alpina badge sits right in the glass.

Under the grille there’s a little opening. Just a small mouth for air. The badge inside floats. Looks detached. Like it’s not really there.

Who cares about a sedan when the dream looks like this?

It’s a concept. Concepts fade. The sedan comes next. Maybe it will be sharp too. Or maybe it will just be another 7 Series. We’ll see.
