Suzuki’s Tiny EV Lands In Europe Next Year

Suzuki is hungry for the cheap EV market. And they’re finally moving. The Vision e-Sky isn’t just a concept anymore. It’s coming to Europe in spring 2027. Mainland and UK alike.

This puts Suzuki straight in the mud with the small affordable crowd. No more sitting out.

Size Matters Less Here

Forget the Swift. This thing is smaller. Much smaller. It qualifies for Japan’s kei car rules. That means it’s capped at 3,395 mm long. Just under 134 inches. The Swift sits at 152 inches. By comparison? The new Suzuki looks like a child’s toy next to its big brother.

Does it matter. Not really. In a city parking space it wins every time.

Don’t expect the styling to morph much. Prototypes usually do. But Suzuki tends to keep the bones. The production car will probably just fix the mirrors. Add proper door handles. Maybe tweak the lights. Practical stuff. Boring maybe, but honest.

Range And Price: The Reality Check

Suzuki hasn’t talked about the battery size yet. Or the motor. They’re being quiet. The concept claimed 270 km. About 168 miles.

Is that enough? It beats the Honda Super-N. That little thing only manages 206 km. But the Renault Twingo E-Tech pushes slightly further at 263 km. Suzuki needs to hold that line. Maybe better it.

David Kateley runs the UK side of things. He’s excited. “The A-segment BEV is vitally important,” he told Autocar. He called it a different segment entirely. A new entrant. He believes in it.

Then there is the cost. That’s the real killer. Or savior.

The report says the price slips under £20,000. Around €23k or $26k. That slots it right next to the Twingo and the Super-N. Not the cheapest out there though. Dacia is already looking at £16,000 for the Spring. Volkswagen’s ID.Every1 aims for £17,00a too. Suzuki has its work cut out.

Will it be worth it? The car is tiny. The range is mediocre at best. But it’s a Suzuki. Built tough. Cheap to buy.

The market is crowded. Cheaper options exist. Better ranges are out there. Still Suzuki is showing up. Bringing a kei-sized car to a land of highways. Maybe that’s the point. You don’t buy it for the highway.

We’ll see what it’s like to drive.
